The holidays are a great to spend with your kids and celebrate traditions. One of my favorite family traditions is reading Christmas books together. Spending time in a story gets us all ready for the holidays. A way to start this tradition is wrap 24 Christmas books. Starting December 1st let you children open one book, and read the book as a family. Continue this every night until Christmas. On the Christmas night, choose the family’s favorite book and read it again. It is a great tradition that your family will look forward to every year!
Here are a few of my family’s favorite books to read on the 24 nights of Christmas:
Peef: The Christmas Bear by Tom Hegg
Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
Eloise at Christmastime by Kay Thompson
How Santa Got His Job by Stephen Krensky
How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Suess
Carl’s Christmas by Alexandra Day
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore
The Christmas Story by Jane Werner Watson
These Christmas books are great for the whole family. Your children will love unwrapping a book each night and reading it with you. What are your family’s favorite Christmas books to read?
