4 Ways to Master Your Self-Care Schedule

Women are busier than ever these days. Whether you’re a stay at home mom or you work outside the home, you’re juggling a multitude of things. We’re working, keeping house, raising our kids and trying to take care of everything and everyone. But no matter how busy our lives get, we have to remember to take care of ourselves, too! We have a few simple tips to help you rev up your self-care, right at home!

  1. NUTRITION: Eating healthy foods goes a long way because proper nutrition is always better for you in the long run. However, certain foods like beans, eggs, nuts, and bananas give you the energy you need to get through your busy day. You’ll have more energy and drive to last throughout your entire day, start to finish!
  2. EXERCISE: Get your heart pumping and work up a sweat every day. Cardio is super important and should be a part of everyone’s daily routine. Exercise wards off disease and boosts your immune system which energizes you. Even if you only have 15 minutes, you’ll reap some benefits. If time is an issue, break it down into three 10 minutes sessions and before the day is over you will have a half hour under your belt before you know it!
  3. SOCIALIZING: Get together with your girlfriends! As if you ever needed an excuse, your health is a great one to use. Studies show that socializing and connecting with others is as beneficial to our health as not smoking. Take a walk, meet for coffee, get a group together and let loose, there’s nothing like a fun girl’s night out to rejuvenate you!
  4. MENTAL CLARITY: Give yourself a break. A little downtime really helps you regroup. Even if you take just 15 minutes, it will help. I know it’s not easy for some of us to be ‘idle’, especially if you have a long to-do list. A little time for yourself is essential for your well-being. Spend it any way you wish – read a book, flip through a magazine, meditate, watch a little TV or just be. It will help you refocus and retain your energy.

Taking time out for yourself is a lot easier than it sounds. Somedays you might have a lot of time to give up, some days you might not have any. However, finding that balance is essential to find some mental clarity, peace, and most importantly, happiness! What are some of your favorite self-care tips? Leave your comments below!
