Sometimes a week can feel like a lifetime. Whether you’re toting around kiddos from practice to practice, making 3 meals a day, or have a full 8-hour work day, we’ve been there. Sometimes a day itself can feel like it’s never going to end! But when those weekends roll around, they’re over before you know it. Luckily, I’ve had a long, stress-free weekend to brainstorm some ways to improve my daily routines. I thought about everything from unnecessary stressed to ways to improve my cleaning schedule. Here are some tips to help you improve your daily routine!
Schedule some R&R: Find some time alone where you can get away and take care of yourself for a minute. Try to get some fresh air or read a few pages out of your favorite book!
Do laundry once a day: Instead of being overwhelmed by a huge load of laundry at the end of the week, try to do a little bit at a time. Doing laundry every day might not be the most exciting part of your day, but it will help lighten the load at the end of the week.
Clean as you go: When you’re making dinner, try to wash utensils, pots, and pans as soon as you can. You’ll feel so much better knowing there aren’t any dishes to wash after enjoying your dinner!
Do one large chore a day: Try to knock out a big chore every day. Organize all your kitchen drawers, vacuum all the carpets, whatever you need to do. It won’t feel so overwhelming and cut down on your to-do list!
Kiddo clean-up: To help maintain organization throughout the house create a schedule for your kiddos to clean up. Set up a few different times during the day for them to clean their room or get their toys out of common areas.
Meal plan: Instead of stressing out every morning about what to cook for dinner, set up a meal plan. Before you go grocery shopping, create a list of meals for every day of the week and set up your list according to that. Write down those meals on a calendar and you’re good to go!
Show gratitude: Make sure to take a few minutes out of your day to think about what you’re thankful for. This will radiate some positivity and hopefully give you some peace and quiet for a few minutes!
Have a regular bedtime: Whether you choose to have a lax schedule or a full-on bedtime ritual, a routine is super important.
Our lives are crazy, hectic and wonderful, all at the same time. We can go from having nothing to do to being scheduled non-stop for the next 30 days. It’s important to take time out of your day to think about how we can make it easier on ourselves and our families. A little tweaking to our daily routine can work wonders!
