It is often an uphill battle for parents to get their children to eat healthier foods and live healthier lives. The ice cream cone always trumps a salad, and TV or computer games usually trump playing outside.
The children’s book, Bud the Spud by Adam Tritt with illustrations by Java John Goldacker tells the witty tale of what happens when a young boy eats too much junk food and watches TV all day…he turns into a couch potato–literally!
With 3 possible endings for poor Bud, it is sure to catch the attention of young readers and help them see the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle.

My daughter would absolutely love this book! When I ask her to eat or even try her vegetables, her response is, “I will try them when I’m five.” o_O She sounds so positive and reassuring that I just want to hug and kiss her each time, although I’m really raging inside that she only loves chicken nuggets and mac and cheese!!
My daughter would like it.. sounds disturbing lol.
my daughter would like it because she wants to be a chef when she grows up
I would like to win this book for both if my children. It would make them understand better the importance if their health.
This book will be a very nice addition to my library of educational books for my children. I alway tell my children about the importance of eating healthy and the importance of the active lifestyle. And all of us in the family WALK THE TALK – only healthy foods on the table, regular exercise. I would also love to share this book with other children, I will bring it to school and ask the teacher to read it to other children as well, this will make a nice part of the education about healthy eating for other kids. I volunteer for school a lot and always talk to children about avoiding junk foods. Books are always good helpers when it comes to this type of education. I find myself to be the only parent in the class who cares sometimes. It makes me very sad to see other parents pack so much junk in their kids lunch boxes but I am sure this book can make a differnce.
I look forward receiving this copy!
I would love to read this to my 5 year old daughter. I need more reinforcement when it comes to eating healty!
I have 3 little ones that would prefer to eat junk food than a regular meal. This would help them understand the consequences of what can happen when you eat too much junk food.
My niece would love this. She is a fussy eater and I think she’d enjoy it.
This is an awesome book! I would love to read this to my 6 year old and my grandson. It helps to reinforce all that I am teaching them. I love the book!
