It’s official… Summer is winding down and school will be starting before you know it! Parents, you might be ready for your children to start school, but your children might not be so ready. Starting a new year of school can be intimidating. Each year brings new milestones and a bit of nervousness for kids and even to parents. Here are a few tips to keep the jitters of this new transition at bay!
Getting your children into a routine and easing their minds about school is a great way to start! AMomWithALessonPlan shares great tips for helping you and your children adjust to this new experience and also help them go into school with confidence.

A few extra tips:
1. Teach your child the importance of responsibility. They are responsible for their grades and behavior. Reinforcing positive behavior will teach your child that doing well is a good thing and makes everyone happy.
2. Build your children’s confidence. Reassure your child that everything will be okay and let them know how awesome they are. This will make them feel more confident and ready to walk through those doors on the first day!
3. Breathe! It will be okay. This is a journey that your child will enjoy! Bring cameras, record special moments, hug your child and even cry. (Just not in front of them!) Know that your child is in good hands with their awesome teachers!
You’ve got this! Your child has got this! You’re ready to let them be a big kid now! So go on and enjoy the walk to school with your little one!
