As much as we love celebrating Easter with our kiddos, some activities we get tired of. When you’re doing the same easter egg hunt year after year, it can get old for adults and even our kiddos, too! Lucky for us we live in the era of Pinterest holidays and there are tons of new and fresh ideas to keep us entertained every year. We’ve picked our top 3 easter egg hunt ideas and we’ve outlined them for you to try this Easter season!
This is a fun twist on the traditional scavenger hunt. You can hide letters or object in each egg that all come together at the end. Start by thinking of a few spring words or even words you’re trying to teach your kiddos. Spell out the words by writing them on a piece of paper or using foam letters and color code each word with the same color egg. Your kiddos will love to match them up to see what they spell!
Similar to the scavenger hunt, make your own puzzle! This is a super fun activity that will keep both you and your kiddos entertained. The best part about this egg hunt is you can make your own puzzle! Whether it’s of the family pup, a note that gives them clues to other Easter surprises or a family photo, you can have a blast doing something special for your kiddos!
Flash Light Hunt
While this one is geared towards the older kiddos, this is a great tradition in my family that we’ve done for YEARS! You can switch it up and have everyone hunt a particular color, hunt in a certain area, or team up with their siblings or cousins. Making sure you’re in a safe and secure area is key and safety should be discussed beforehand. For full details view the tutorial from Let’s Get Together.
Easter is so much fun. There are pastels as far as the eye can see and kiddos everywhere can’t stop smiling from ear-to-ear. I think it’s so much fun to take a normal activity and make it your own. It’s no secret that family traditions are a big part of my family and I love to see what each generation comes up with. What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?
