Having a low key Thanksgiving? Why not go see a movie with the family? We’ve found the top three family movies to watch on Thanksgiving this year.
Our number one pick this Thanksgiving is Disney’s Frozen. Out Thanksgiving day, this highly anticipated blockbuster is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Everyone, both young and old, can enjoy the creativity and humor that have made Disney films infamous. This is your best bet if you have children.
2. The Hunger Games
Our next pick is for a more mature audience. The Hunger Games, too, has been highly anticipated. The bestselling series is back with its second installment on November 15th, 2013. Between the books, which are amazing, and Jennifer Lawrence, who is an impeccable actress, this is sure to be a great film. It is rated PG-13, however, so we do not recommend this film for a family with small children.
3. The Book Thief
Our last pick for the Thanksgiving season is The Book Thief, in theaters November 8th, 2013. Inspired by the Markus Zusak novel, Liesel is a foster child that can’t help herself when tempted to steal books. Her foster father teaches her to read and she shares her books with her neighbors and a Jewish man living in her basement in Nazi-occupied Germany. This is a heart-warming story sure to coalesce with the grateful spirit of Thanksgiving.
