As a new mom herself, Brittany Gray, Founder of Fancy Face Inc, knows that time is a valuable thing and practicing a full make-up routine first thing in the morning is not the priority anymore. However, moms deserve to feel beautiful and put together, so Brittany is sharing helpful beauty tips that she has been using since she became a mom:
Hydrate: With the late nights and coffee guzzling new moms endure, it is hard to look fresh and rested. To keep yourself from looking like life has been sucked out of you, start using a hydrating oil on your skin every morning. You can also add a few drops to your day and night moisturizers. As a bonus, hydrating oils are perfect for “make-up free” looks! People will think you still have that enviable pregnancy glow.
Use a Powerhouse Product: Invest in a cream blush that can double as a lip stain. While a mom’s life is often too hectic to invest time in beauty, a simple product such as this will bring life to your face. Fair to medium skin tones are best with pink, medium to dark skin tones look best with peach. Use your fingers to dab onto the apples of your cheeks and lips for instant beauty!
Use Simple, Safe, and Refreshing Scents: A favourite scent, or a sexy new one, helps new moms feel desirable and glamorous regardless of how many diapers she just had to change. Many fragrances can irritate a newborn, so to be on the safe side, try using essential oils like rose and lavender. Try using essential oils in a roller applicator: these will fit easily into your purse or diaper bag for easy access and a quick pick-me-up.
Multitask Your Relaxation Regime: When baby is finally down for the night, take some time for yourself. Draw a bubble bath, pour some wine, put on a face mask, and whiten your teeth. Being a mom is all about multitasking, and your “me-time” deserves all the pampering you can fit in!
Dress for Your New Mojo: As comfy as leggings and sweaters are, dressing your best will help you feel like more than a milk machine. A new mom’s body has gone through a lot of changes, and that’s wonderful – her body has created life! Brittany suggests that new moms go through their wardrobes to see how their clothes look on their new bodies: put aside anything that doesn’t work for your new mom-mojo, and try out new looks to see what makes your feel like the Queen of your castle. Try a new look every day: this is a fun time to experiment, and daily new looks will keep mom feeling fresh. If you feel down about how clothes fit now, just remember that your body created a beautiful new life!
