Our Just Between Friends featured franchisee this week is Susan Newhouse. Susan is one of the Event Coordinators for JBF Dallas. Her sister-in-law, Shannon Wilburn, started the first JBF Sale in Tulsa, OK. “I saw how her sale took off and had to have one for myself,” said Susan.
When did you first start to feel your JBF franchise was successful?
My partner, Stacey, and I went into this thinking that it would be awhile before we made any money and were determined to stick with it until we did. Well, we made money on our first sale and have grown ever since! Eight years ago when we started, we couldn’t imagine our sale as HUGE as it is now. We are planning for our continued growth and can’t wait to see what we will look like in eight more years.
With social media outlets, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, so relevant in how we communicate what effects do these media outlets have on your business?
Social media helps us really connect to our consignors. Our main website is great for basic information, but social media let’s our consignors, shoppers and volunteers actually “talk” to us. It is great to actually have a two way communication and to get to know these amazing moms.
When and where do you hold JBF events?
We have our JBF sale twice a year (Spring and Fall) at the Mesquite Rodeo Exhibit Hall in Mesquite, Texas. Mesquite is a suburb just outside of Dallas.
