Overdue for date night? Join the club! As parents of little ones, finding time for yourself and your significant other is not an easy task. Between school schedules, sports, and babysitters, it can seem impossible. It can seem easy to skip out on date night this week and postpone it until next week. As much as we love our kiddos, date night is a special time to spend with our husband or wives without interruption. Whether you make plans and something comes up or you can’t find the time at all, it usually gets put on the back burner. Here are some ways to get some personal time with each other without breaking the bank!
Once the kids are finally asleep, slip out into the backyard and enjoy some time together around the fire. Roast some marshmallows, hot dogs, or anything else you two might enjoy! If you have an outdoor TV it’s a great venue for a movie at home, or to throw on your favorite Spotify playlist and enjoy.
Arts & Crafts Night
This may not be the most adult activity you can come up with, but it is a great way to spend time together and have adult conversations. Pull out the art and some paint supplies and just enjoy your time together. The great part about this is that you won’t have to go out and buy anything. Having kids means having tons of art supplies on hand. This goes great with a bottle of wine and some soft music in the background!
Granted this might not be the most glamorous date night idea, but it’s better than nothing! Take a jog around the neighborhood, take a casual walk in the park, whatever you enjoy most. It’s nice to be able to multi-task and be able to exercise together and get to spend time together. It’s also a great stress-reliever and will relax both of you!
Date night is a must for every household. No matter how elaborate or simple you plan them, it’s important to make time for each other. All that matters is that you spend time with those you love! What are some of your favorite date night ideas? Leave your comments below!
