How often are you super embarrassed because your car is a mess? If you’re like me, you basically live in your car and the mess gets out of control! Luckily, we aren’t alone. The days of avoiding carpooling are over! We have 5 tips to help you organize your car and keep it that way. Here’s how to get started.
First things first, try to clean up all the trash in your car. Including under seats, doors, the trunk, everywhere. Once you get everything cleared out, grab a clear plastic bag. This is so you have somewhere to throw trash away in the future. I recommend keeping a grocery bag in the passenger side door so trash doesn’t end up on the floor!
To make sure your car stays super organized, always keep a notepad and pen in a safe spot. I like to keep it in the console between the driver and passenger seat. This is a great way to keep track of things you need to pick up, drop off, or things you just don’t want to forget! You can attach it to your dashboard and toss it when you don’t need it anymore.
I also keep a bunch of must-haves on board too. In my glovebox, I stock up on band-aids, Neosporin, and antibacterial spray. I keep this in a Ziploc bag so they’re easy to find and aren’t a hassle to get in and out. If you have any coupons, receipts, or miscellaneous papers to keep, store them in an envelope. I can’t tell you how much easier this makes trips to the grocery store and to the mall!
Now we get to the really important stuff – kiddos. Kids, as much as we love them, create messes everywhere they go. This does not exclude the car. So in an effort to keep them entertained, I keep some extras in the car for them. The little pocket on the back of my seat is a perfect place to keep them stored! It’s a great place to keep books, pencils, notepads, and puzzles to keep them busy.
Lastly, if you need an emergency kit, put everything in one place. A great way to organize your car is by stuffing a backpack full of all the necessities. This includes extra shorts, shirts, underwear, swimsuits, etc. You never know when something might come up! So instead of having clothes thrown everywhere, keep your emergency kit handy.
Keeping a car clean isn’t easy, but that doesn’t mean it has to be impossible, either. What’re your favorite tips to organize your car? Leave your comments below!
