Christmas Eve is right around the corner. As excited as the kids are, we cannot help but stress a little as moms! We want to make each Christmas even more memorable than the last Christmas but without breaking the bank or losing our mind. Christmas Eve might just be the most stressful night of the entire holiday, especially with kids. We are trying to check off every box to ensure that we pull off Christmas Day flawlessly. Now, we usually remember to leave out milk and cookies for Santa but what we forget is to feed the reindeer! Those sweet reindeer need energy to stay alert for the many stops on Christmas Eve. Here is a quick recipe for reindeer food that Rudolph and all of his friends will love and your kids will remember forever!
Ingredients: ½ cup of birdseed or dry oats and ¼ cup of glitter, that’s it!
Mix the birdseed/oats and glitter together in a small ziplock baggie. Let the kids do the shaking! On Christmas Eve, sprinkle the reindeer food in your yard. This should also be the kid’s job since this is the best part! The birdseed/oats are food for the reindeer, but the birds are sure to love the leftovers and ensure that the yard doesn’t sparkle for the rest of the year. The glitter will catch the reindeer’s eyes by lighting up your yard. Santa and all of his reindeer will be so excited to stop at your home!
The holidays are a time to spend quality time with loved ones. Make sure you incorporate fun family activities such as this one to make memories that will last a lifetime. No matter if its making reindeer food, doing a craft, or snuggling up to a movie, do something your family will enjoy! Have a favorite holiday tradition? Leave us a comment below!
