Taking a family road trip? Instead of making pit stops at gas stations and spending money on unhealthy fast food, here are a few snack ideas to keep the kiddos happy until you reach your destination!
Granola bars: Granola bars are the perfect snack for kids during a road trip because they are individually wrapped and easy to maintain while driving over bumps. There are protein packed granola bars like the Nature Valley Protein Bars, to help keep appetites satisfied, which will be great for you on a long road trip!
Fruit: Grapes and apple slices are delicious, easy to pack favorites for kiddos! For added nutritional value, try the Jif to go Peanut Butter Dippers. The peanut butter gives the energizing apple slices an added protein boost!
Vegetables: If your kiddos are big on veggies, pack baby carrots or cherry tomatoes in a Ziploc bag. They can snack on these healthy treats and you won’t have to worry about the kiddos getting an intense sugar rush in the car!
Crackers: Pretzels, Cheez-Its, Ritz or animal crackers are snacks you can’t go wrong with for road trips! Kids tend to love these and more stores are providing the smaller, individually packed crackers and snacks, which is a plus so you won’t have to divide snacks up during the road trip or use excess Ziploc bags.
Trail mix: Trail mix is a great snack because you can purchase their favorite kind or you and your children can tailor the trail mix to your liking with different types of nuts, granola and fruit as you would like!
I hope this post gave you a few ideas on what to pack for your family’s future road trip! Let us know what your favorite road trip snacks are!
