Staying organized may seem like a luxury to some. It feels like a never-ending task, especially with a house full of busy schedules. And most importantly, getting organized is so much easier than staying organized is. You have to make time every day to make sure everything is in the right place, and you’re on top of your to-do list. Staying organized can seem daunting to say the least, but it’s not as difficult as you might think. By doing just a few things a day you’ll stay organized and stress-free! Here are some of our favorite daily tasks to stay organized.
Write a To-Do List
This is a super easy and efficient way to make sure you stay organized! You don’t need a super detailed planner in order to keep up with a to-do list. You can use a planner, a notebook, or the back of a receipt! Just make sure whatever you use you can keep track of easily. It can be difficult to remember a million things at once, and that’s how things are so easily forgotten! Instead of stressing yourself out and making things more difficult, write it down and keep up with it.
If you have a bunch going on, you need to find a good spot to keep all your documents, lists, and bills. It can be difficult to prioritize and get everything done, without your desk looking like a tornado swept through. Try to find a dedicated shelf or basket where you can keep track of everything you need to do for the week. Try organizing highest priority on top and lowest priority on the bottom. That way, you can make sure you’re getting everything done on time. That feeling of feeling like you forgot something will become a thing of the past!
Split up Big Projects
It can be overwhelming when we have a lot of big projects, deadlines, or high-stress situations at once. It’s incredibly difficult to stay focused and get everything done on time. To keep yourself focused, try to break up the really big tasks into smaller tasks. Instead of trying to get everything done at once, try to do a small part each day, and spread it out over a few days. This will minimize procrastination and keep you on track!
We’ve all been there ladies. You have a jam-packed work week, sporting events, homework, and a house to clean. Taking time to clean up and organize usually isn’t an option. However, if you organize in depth from the beginning, it’ll be much easier to manage your messes! Make sure everything has a proper place. That means pens, post-its, computer chargers, everything. It’s impossible to tidy up and put things back if they don’t have anywhere to go. By doing this every day, it’ll take just a few minutes and you’ll be good to go!
Know When It’s Time To Say Goodbye
Let’s be real, when our houses turn into a disaster overnight the first thought we have is “do I really need all of this stuff?”. The answer is more than likely no, but it may be hard to part with your stuff. Try to break it down by different areas of the house. Start with the bathroom for example, move on to your closet, then to your bedroom, etc. You don’t have to do it all at once, but it’s important to make sure you realize when it’s time to de-clutter. The less stuff you have, the less things you have to organize!
Staying organizing may seem impossible, but all it takes are some simple steps to keep you on track. By taking just a few minutes out of every day you can keep up with deadlines, manage messiness, and stay organized throughout the week! What are some of your favorite time-saving organization tips?
