It’s getting hot. And after a while, the pool can get redundant. Here are three ideas to cool down while still having fun!
1. Car Wash
Your kids are probably fascinated by car washes when they’re going through them, so why not create one in your backyard? Set-up might take a while, but if built properly, it can last all summer. You’ll need PVC pipe or something similar to create the base and form. From there, the possibilities are endless. Turn on your sprinkler to have a constant flow of water source, but try and emulate the functions of a typical wash. You can look here for more inspiration!
Just like regular kickball, but with Kiddie pools and slides! Grab a foam ball, and soak it in water each time someone is up to kick. Instead of bases, have 1st-3rd be Kiddie pools! Your children will have to stand in them while they’re on the bases (if you want to add more to this, have them complete a task while waiting). Then, to go home, lay out a water slide. Home-runs don’t count unless they slide!
3. Water Limbo
This is the easiest, as no set-up is required. All you need is a water hose! This is just like regular limbo, but with water. If it’s not quite scorching outside, or no one wants to get that wet, this is the perfect option. Have an adult be the hose moderator and adjust the height during each round. The lower the hose, the more the child is bound to get wet. Have a bit of fun with it! Add another hose, or switch up the rules! There is a lot of creativity available with this game!
