Sometimes every Monday gives you the Monday blues. You know it’s bad when Sunday no longer feels like Sunday, but the day before Monday. However, it doesn’t always have to feel like that! Say goodbye to those dreaded Mondays where you feel anxious, stressed-out, and unprepared. Whether you’re a career woman or dedicate all your time to your family, Sunday prep is essential for a busy mom with a full week ahead of her! There’s a huge difference in our summer and school schedules, but either way, prepping on Sunday can work miracles. Here are a few things you can do on Sundays to make your weekdays less hectic.
Finish Laundry
If you’re anything like me, you loathe doing laundry. But someone’s gotta do it, right? By getting your laundry done on Sunday, you don’t have to worry about school uniforms, a lack of socks, or no underwear! The best way to get this done is to collect and separate on Saturday, that way you can get down to business on Saturday!
Take a Timeout
You read that right. Mamas deserve pampering too, so don’t skip out on some me-time every Sunday! Try to do something for yourself, and I mean anything. Get a pedi or do your nails at home, make a dent in your favorite book, or go window-shopping if you please. De-stress and decompress and greet the week refreshed and ready to conquer.
Meal Plans and Groceries
How many grocery trips do end up spending double or even triple what you estimated? A trip to the store without a list is a terrible habit to get into, and I’ll tell you why. You’re browsing through the aisles, trying to decide what is on the menu this week and what all you need for your meals. Maybe you’re a little optimistic and end up wasting tons of food because you order pizza a few nights and plan different meals for the rest of the week. Also, even a little bit of preparation can save you a TON of money! So come up with a meal plan for the week at home, and make a list based on that. Throughout the week you can add household essentials like soap, laundry detergent, and paper towels!
Organization
If you have a sink full of dirty dishes, clear them out on Sunday, instead of waking up to a hectic morning and a messy kitchen! Make sure everything is where it needs to be for the week ahead. That means toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, etc. Just fewer things you need to worry about!
Weather Malfunctions
This may be overlooked by lots of mamas, but I swear by it. Check your app throughout the weekend, because the weather is anything but reliable most of the time, right? But having an idea of what weather obstacles you might face is definitely an advantage, especially with sporting events or events at school. This will help on wardrobe choices, school delays, and staying warm and dry during the week!
And there you have it, simple tasks to do on Sundays that will make a world of a difference in the week ahead. What’s are some of your favorite tips for Sunday prep? Leave us a comment below!
