With summer coming to an end and school starting up, how can you be sure your children have a successful school year and achieve their goals?
Organization is key:
Before school starts I know my favorite thing was going and getting school supplies. No one wants summer to end so you have to look forward to something and that was the one thing that got me excited to wake up super early and go sit in a class room for 7 hours. But while getting my school supplies I always made sure I purchased a planner. This is very very important for every child to do!! Keep it with you at all times and write down all of your homework, tests, and assignments. Staying organized will not only keep you from being extremely stressed out all the time but it will help you to have better grades.
Set goals and don’t quit until you achieve them:
Before school starts have your child write down a list of things they want to achieve in the upcoming year. It can be as simple as making it to school on time every day or as big as making straight A’s. Keep this list on the fridge so they see it every day and know to keep striving to reach these goals.
Support your child no matter what:
You may have been the head cheerleader in school or in the band but don’t take offense if your daughter doesn’t have any interest in that. Find out what she is interested in and support her every step of the way. Let her be her own person.
Tell your child you are proud of them:
Every little achievement deserves to be acknowledged. Whether it’s big or small let them know you are proud of them and continue to encourage them to work hard.
Be the parent that is involved in your child’s life. Help make going to school more fun and go smoother.
